Bringing together those who enjoy the outdoors
The Freedom Day Long weekend was the ideal time to head to Baviaanskloof, a Nature reserve in the Eastern Cape some 660km form Cape Town.
The Baviaanskloof is remarkable in terms of the diversity of its natural ecosystems. Seven of South Africa’s eight biomes (major natural regions) are represented here including fynbos, forest, grassland, succulent Karoo, nama-karoo, sub-tropical thicket and savanna.
A week away bush camping and exploring along the Orange River on the Namibian side or the border.
A very pleasant day outing into the mountains in good company. There be water in them there hills!
Op Die Berg farm has a very rustic campsite, Baliesgat, that is away from the main farm that was booked exclusively for the weekend.  Thanks to Hilton for putting it together.
