Club Christmas Weekend

25 – 27 November 2022

First off, thank you to all the members who attended the Christmas weekend! I cannot describe how absolutely wonderful the people in this club are and what comradery was had on the weekend!

Despite the wind, which blew and blew on the Friday night, and then blew, blew, blew even harder on Saturday into the evening, spirits remained high amongst the campers at all times during the weekend!

I had thought that with the wind blowing, any chance of wearing our Christmas hats on the Saturday evening at the club meal would be a disaster, but Ivan was first to take a stance and wear his Christmas hat, even with the danger of his hat flying off his head into the dam! Soon after, many more of the members were inspired to get into the “Christmas hat” spirit and it was so much fun to see all the different hats bobbing around!

A special word of thanks must be given to those who contributed behind the scenes to make this another special and memorable weekend – first and foremost, a huge THANK YOU to Hilton for arranging the meat and braai’ing for everyone and Guillaume for helping with the cooking and Shannon lending a hand with this where needed!  Mary, as usual, stepping in to help out with a delicious green salad! And last but not least, those members who volunteered either their time to assist with prep work or their tables and tablecloths to place the salads onto – I didn’t get around to thanking each and every one of you, but please know that your assistance was invaluable in making this weekend a huge success!

Wishing all of you a very peaceful time during December and January and I hope to see many of you on some of the outings in 2023!
